BOSTON — Dr. Christine A. Hamori, board-certified plastic surgeon, is pleased to announce the availability of Sculptra® Aesthetic, an FDA-approved injectable product that restores and corrects the signs of facial fat loss by replacing lost volume. Also known as "poly-L-lactic acid," it is synthetic, and biocompatible (does not harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body).
Sculptra Aesthetic is targeted for use in:
• Deep folds between the nose and the mouth, or, smile lines
• Lines framing your mouth (marionette lines)
• Chin wrinkles.
According to Dr. Hamori, who treats patients in her Duxbury, Massachusetts, surgical practice on Boston's South Shore, "Sculptra may take several treatments, and results happen slowly over several months. But unlike some injectables that are temporary facial fillers, Sculptra actually helps restore lost collagen -- restoring the structure under the skin -- for smoother skin and fuller volume that can last for two or more years."
Dr. Hamori's web site and plastic surgery blog have more information and links related to sculptra including videos of recent coverage of Sculptra on the Today Show and the CBS Morning Show.

VelaShape Cellulite Treatment is Lastest Offering at Christine Hamori Cosmetic Surgery + Skin Spa
DUXBURY, MA — Massachusetts plastic surgeon Christine A. Hamori, MD, is pleased to announce VelaShape(TM) as the latest offering in her Duxbury, MA cosmetic surgery and skin spa.
VelaShape for body contouring, is a non-invasive technology that has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) pre-marketing clearance for the temporary reduction of the appearance of cellulite, as well as temporary reduction of thigh circumference. This is the same product featured in January on both the Rachael Ray TV Show and Dr. Phil.
VelaShape replaces VelaSmooth (also manufactured by Syneron) in Dr. Hamori's office as it provides faster, visible results, in as few as four office visits (while the previous technology required 12 treatments). The higher power of the VelaShape enables much quicker results in both cellulite and circumferential reduction applications. With four treatments each spaced one week apart, patients will be able to see thinner thighs and improved skin texture within a 30-day period according to manufacturer's claims.
For more information on VelaShape, see Dr. Hamori's blog and her web site, or call her office in Duxbury, Massachusetts at 781-934-2200.
